Cooling Fan Assembly Different in SS
EDIT: GOT NEW PART AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 15minutes. After the second time starting the vehicle the fan would not spin up....I am lost here.
WHAT I DID NOTICE is my autometer says the Ambient Temp is 68*, when it is 91* outside?? Could this be a bad ECM? How do I test this? ZZP programmed it for me ....

My cooling fan is not working anymore, temps get over 230* and it doesn't come on. Swapped and checked all the fuses, good to go.
It happened the other day, I was sitting in 90* weather with the AC on and heard some noises under the hood (parked running ac, not moving). All of a sudden the AC got super warm, noticed the fan wasn't running but also saw my coolant resi was low so topped it off, got on the highway fast and immediately the temps drop back to the middle of the gauge.
To either the fan or that little controller module on the bottom is bad. So the question is, DO ALL HHRs have the same cooling fan assemblies or are their differences? The pricing online varies from 70$ (looks like a fan and no control module) but when I look it up at Autozone they want $311 for the whole assembly) fan, motor, module.
Any insight would help, thanks! Going out to try and check the module/wiring for burns or chaffs since others have had the module go bad no allowing the fan to power up, the motor in the fan is actually still good.

SS's have a different fan than the regular HHR. Difference is the built-in module.
Check the wiring at the module itself. I recall a previous post or two about that being a problem area.
You say the motor is good ? Curious has to how you checked it.

Have the cooling fan out, is there a way to test the module and motor to very which is the problem?
Motor is good from the standpoint it is not frozen and spins freely with minimal noise. Can I test the module for Volts or Resistance to very they are correct/working?

Does the fan come on when you turn the a/c on?
The a/c will turn off if the engine over heats. When the engine is COLD open the pressure cap to make sure the hose is full. If the rank was low chances are the system is low.

Pics of the part, I cannot find this anywhere on repair sites!?!?
All the numbers on the bar code come up with ZERO google results. Anyone know what this is called? I thought it would be the "fan speed control module" but nothing comes up anywhere.

I don't mean to be rude but trust me I've checked the coolant and the AC clutch works fine. It is this pic above that is the issue since I plugged the fans in directly, bypassing this and the fan worked fine.
Now if I could only get a part #
