Cooling Fan Assembly Different in SS
If you CAN buy it separate, then great.
I remember some past threads that said it was only available with the whole fan assembly.
If you are able to get it separate, please post up the confirmed box part # once you receive the module. Might help some of us SS owners down the road.
edit: You did check the wiring to confirm that the module is getting the voltage feed ?

Still need to find out if you can test the module for PASS or FAIL?
FIREMANgeorge - I did not test the connection at the harness but that is a great idea....tips of trick for doing this? It is a four pin connection, no rust or built up so it "looked" good but did not test. If you can provide some intrustions to test with a meter I will do so and report back.
I confirmed the part number in the pervious post, AC DELCO part # 25845280
What I would call a fan speed control module GM calls a "Engine Cooling Fan Controller"

Sorry. I don't have the particulars on testing the unit and wiring. I haven't had any issues with mine or the need to check it.
I was just passing on some of the info that I have accumulated while reading.
Simply put. The ecm has to supply voltage to the module when commanded. I would think you could check for voltage at the harness plug with a multi-meter.
(disclaimer: I don't know if this is the correct procedure or if this could cause any problems using the multi-meter here. Just stating what may be a possible way to check it)

Got the part installed, tested it before assmebling and the fan kicked on as expected with AC on. Drove for 15 miles in heavy traffic, never got above 195* with AC on. Stopped at a store, came out and restarted the car.....no fan, starts overheating. Barely got it home. Noticed my autometer said Ambient Temp was a 68* which is impossible outside it is 91*
I open my hood and I can literally see bubbling at the gasket seals and can hear the coolant boiling....what else could this be???
BAD ECM?
Bad fan motor? (spun perfectly when I tried it before assembly)
NO CODES.....this is crazy
----------------------------------------------------------
Just came back from a 15min cruise, started the car multiple times, cycled the AC.....Fan worked flawlessly. This makes me even more worried since I literally changed nothing. I am wondering now if the fan motor reaches a certain temp does it become unable to kick itself back on??
Still thinking this might be an ECM issue, so random now. Will test and watch over the coming days and report back.

Literally just after I typed the above message, went out to driveway to restart the car and fan does not turn on even with AC on and 215*....this is a bad ECM or Fan motor

Just confirmed, with car cold the fan started right up zero issues with over 45mins of driving (30 driving, 15min idling in 90* weather) with ZERO issues (fan never turned off). Got it home, turned the car off and now the fan will not engage.
I think this is a bad fan motor??
