Crazy question for the 4th of July...
On my 08 ss 5 sp I have found comp mode helps in snow or ice driving. My car does not have a lsd and during the first winter I was playing around with how to drive it in snow and ice and I found I could stop at a stop sign on incline and would be stuck put it in comp mode and I could take off with light wheel spin. On mine when you engage comp mode it will modulate the brakes side to side to try and keep both front tires spinning kinda like a computer controlled electronic limited slip like jeep uses now. It works great but it does have one draw back it makes it plow much easier on corners if you are accelerating and get wheel spin. I have 38,000 on mine now and original tires they are well worn as I drive hard and live outside of Kansas City in the country so we get a lot of ice and snow. Just go slow be carefull with throttle and brakes. If you think there is an egg between your shoe and the brake or throttle and drive like you can not break it you will be fine.
