Diamond in the ROUGH?!

Chevrolet HHR SS

2008 SS with 122,000 miles, manual
I really want a SS bad but not so bad I make a stupid decision. This is a salvaged title I believe because none of the repairs have been made. Needs a bumper, hood, condenser and radiator support is bent. Didn't realize all that would total that car but I guess so. How does this sound? He said he still drives it an it's still insured.
Thanks for any answers

Yeah he's asking $3000. Said his body shop est was $4400 for repairs. I don't want an auto but wondering if worth buying then fixing mostly myself and resale

Take 2100 cash and take it home and keep or resale (with 400 more in your wallet if you intend to keep it) meaning You will probably own it at 2100. but only throw him the extra 400 if you want to keep it for yourself. because in my opinion I wouldn't pay more than 2500 for that car.

It's the hidden damage that would give me pause.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that the upper radiator support, condensor, and impact absorbing sub-structures are buggered up for starters.

That is a total. but that just means you get it cheep. just got my panel damaged, the panel door but the repairs are 5500, add in the rental for three weeks, 11500.00 almost totaled it over a parking lot mishap. If it wasn't a 2lt panel I would be shopping.

I'm gonna try and go drive it today. I don't want to pay $3000 I will probably offer $2000 if it's worth it, no high/low oil pressure, over heat, or any bad shimmy.

I miss the feel and fun of a 5speed!!

As long as she drives straight and stops on a dime and doesn't over hear I think we should be good, assuming the rest of the car is in good shape. If nothing else, the interior, wheels and tires, spoiler and money I can make off of part out would be worth it I believe. Could transplant a lot onto my car.
