D'ohh !!
Here's one for ya.......
last night the wife and I went to dinner at a place in a large shopping center......and of course the center has a large parking lot with the landscaped strips between each, "nose to nose" parking as well as at the beginning and end of each isle. Because I'm in AZ. the landscape plants are desert type with decomposed granite for the ground cover.
I parked about "right on" with the restaurant, but about 2 isles from me there were several young kids, maybe 8-10 years old, with no adult supervision. They were grabbing handfuls of the granite and throwing it underhand into the air. Needless to say, it was "raining" down on the surrounding vehicles. I watched for a couple seconds as they continued to do this, taking turns. So I walked over.......and (this is unusual for me) politely tried to explain what possible damages could occur. I guess the mother was in the Payless store and she came running out yelling (in very accented English) what are you doing to my kids. I told her, "Nothing", but I witnessed what they were doing, pointing at the small pebbles and rocks on the vehicles (and several chips), and explained how I was telling the kids of what they were doing.
Well, she told me to mind my own business, gathered the kids in her beat up extended cab truck with out of state (country) plates and drove off.
Because of this initial post, I rapidly wrote down several messages about what occurred and included the license plate number of her truck......also my name and phone number....and put them under the wiper of the 4 vehicles.
Really nice woman concerned about her kids....and for me trying to be a good guy.
So far didn't get any calls.
E DIT....Received one call late yesterday. The guy thanked me for my attention and indicated he had contacted the police who took a "short" form report. They indicated they were just making the report to satisfy HIS insurance company requirements.....they could not do anything more because of the OUT OF COUNTRY license plates.
Oh, I did ask him which car was his.......and wonders, he had the cleanest, shiniest Nissan truck in the group of vehicles.
