Effects of Launch Control
Effects of Launch Control
I've noticed that when the SS is in Launch Control the steering is slightly heavier, and I like that. I feel more comfortable after experiencing the to & fro of the front end when I have nailed the throttle with the wheels turned. Does anyone now how the LC works and if there is a negative effect with leaving it on under normal driving situations?
The big problem I see is you lose stability traction control when you are in competition mode. (Thats the only way to turn on launch control)
For normal driving I like knowing that the STC is there in case I'm not 100% paying attention to conditions. If I'm pushing the car or having fun then I'd best be paying attention but for normal driving having a computer co-driver is not a bad thing.

Many reviews say that Competition Mode puts the ESC in a less sensitive mode that allows more yaw than the standard mode before intervention. So, while ESC is still active, TCS is completely disabled. The manual just says that ESC is still active in Comp Mode, doesn't mention the reduced sensitivity. To completely disable ESC you have to hold the button down for 5-10 seconds.
