engine light

At a little over 13K mi on my 08ss the engine light came on. So I did an Onstar diagnostic. They said it was something wrong with the communication from the supercharger/turbo and the ecm or something to that effect. Any body experience anything like that?

I have noticed that these cars do silly little things like this at times. The first thing I would do is to go to Autozone or PepBoys and let them use the diagnostics tool and give you the codes. I would save that info and have them erase the codes and if it happens again take it to the dealer. If the car is running fine now chances are that it won't blow the code again.

As the car is still under warranty the "first thing" I would do, is take it to a Chevrolet dealer and tell them to fix the problem that's causing the check engine light to come on.

My engine light has come on 3 times since august. It seens to go on in 3 month intervals.I take it to dealer evertime.First they said turbo locked up.The second time some kind of air sensor problem. The part has been on b/o since sept estimated time on part is mid Jan 2010.Since then it came on 2 wks ago. They just reset it.And by the way they wanted th blame it in the k & n filter that i had installed 12,000 before the first light came on.

Ok here's the dealer update. First off I should have mentioned that Onstar did a diagnostics for me and reported to me that there was a communication error betweene the supercharger / turbocharger and the ecm. At the dealer they ran a diagnostic tests and found the comm error but could not remove it. They said they have to contact GM to find out why they cant remove the flag / error. But everything looks good no issues with power or engine/trans. The light went away after a few start stop cycles, But I still want the history comm error removed. It's all stock with the exception of the wastegate spring. Which by the way fixed the fluttering of boost in seccond gear. Yes its a slush box trany. and I do get 12-14 lbs of boost in 1st and 2nd. If that seems incorrect let me know.
So they gave me well ( my wife ) a traverse as a rental. Sooo not right, dosent seem fair ha ha ha
