Engine Vibration... Normal?
Engine Vibration... Normal?
Happy New year everyone! Can y'all help me debug this.
Manual, SS with 8,000mi. I've noticed that under certain conditions the engine seems to have excessive vibration, I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
The scenarios:
1) while at a stop, clutch pushed in, and rev to 2,500-3,000rpm.
result: engine vibrates very noticeably, feels as though something is out of balance.
2) (every once and a while) while at a stop, clutch not pushed in
result: the out of balance sound returns and if the clutch is depressed the sounds goes away.
Other than these 2 situations the car seems to drive perfectly fine.
Is this normal? Or should I take it in to get checked out? Might be motor mounts? or something out of balance, like throw out bearing?
Thanks all.

Seems odd that you would only get that vibration under those circumstances. If something was out of balance, you should get the vibration frequently. Definitely bring it in, and hope you don't get the dreaded "couldn't reproduce problem" from the dealer.
