if your going for sound, i would just take off the resonator, not the cat. your hurting the cars performance taking off the cat. i mean to each thier own, and anyone can do what they wanna do with thier car. as far as emmisions and smog laws and all that, they do vary from state to state. we all try to find ways for "cheap" mods, but some of these "cheap" mods hurt the car. if that's the case, why not pick up a performance chip off of e-bay. they run about $30 bucks and give you like 20hp

no one is disputing that it does give you a horsepower advantage, the questions is whether it is worth it or not... to some - yes... to others - no.

The couple of HP it may give you if the cat is old is one thing, a replacement cat is due. The question to whether is is worth it or not has been proven over and over. It's not. Thats for the car and any gains it will not get on removal nor to the environment it's hurting.

however, as you mentioned, the question is, "is it worth it?" for you, obviously not. for many others, it is...

Thats one reason I moved to Brenham. No emission testing. Of course I'll never remove my cat. I just like the $14 inspection.
