Exhaust chrome rubs off?

Exhaust chrome rubs off?
I noticed the other day the top of my exhaust tip on my SS has rubbed off. I tried buffing it out but it's totally gone. Anyone else experienced this?

It is polished Stainless. No Chrome.

It may just need Polished out for some reason. Not with just chrome polish.
