Factory backup mirror on SS.

Has anyone installed the Factory backup mirror and camera on a 2010 SS?

I was recently in a Cadillac CTS and noticed the mirror looks identical to the one in my SS and it had the backup camera view in the left portion of the rearview mirror.

The hard part of this would be installing the camera. The mirror and power hookup should be straight-forward, if not plug-n-play. You'd need to mount/package the camera and route the wire through the headliner. I'd like to see it, too, if anyone has done this as well.

I told the wife about the camera and her reply was, "You trying to tell me something?"

I noticed that the regular HHR had the backup camera as an option, but it was not available on the 2010 SS. I was wondering if the wiring was already in the car and it would be as simple as changing mirrors and putting the camera in the back.
I have not seen where the camera is on a regular HHR, but I was hoping someone had updated their SS with this option and could shed some light.

The rearview mirror is too big as it is. Isn't the backup mirror larger? I've been looking for a smaller mirror that still has the Onstar buttons.

Hmm. I didn't know that about the availability. I just looked in the Service Manual to see where the camera is, and it's located on the underside of the hatch lift handle, just right of center. It also looks like there's a different lift handle for this option, too. Mine appears to not have the space for the camera.

Put the camera in the hole left by the wiper delete.
