your forgetting one thing...these cars are have weather pak connectors ard sealed electronic boxes.....so other then things like radio,, some switches....lightbulbs and speedo and Im sure a few others,, it SHOULD run just fine as long and everything was drained flushed and reserviced,,,,,,
getting things wet doesnt necessarily preclude corrosion....whats that thimg thats in all air?? Oh yeah, humidity....isnt that water also?? If dried out properly and serviced correctly most things should operate correctly...now if they were powered up at athe time, different story.

While I agree with most of that theory, I can't say I fully agree. I mean sure there is humidity in the air, but how much? Not enough to let it soak everything up for a few hours/days. How often does all the wiring underneath the carpet usually get wet? I'm not trying to argue your point, as it is a valid statement. Especially if it was running when it got wet...that's for sure!

Again, I'm no expert though, although hell, I'm pretty close.

whats it going to soak into...boards are sealed...solder has the resin on it....there are no porus materials... its not like the old cars were everything was exposed and of an inferior material.. I wouldn't buy it either except as a play vehicle...just wanted to make u think before you write something off.....

If the water did not get any deeper than the photo it really should not be too bad.

It was not deep enough to get to most of the dash parts and the important electronics under the hood.

I would be more concerned with the long term effects to the wheel bearings and other lower end parts that often are exposed to large amounts of water.
Also will the smell comback in the carpet padding or did it ever leave. I may smell like a frog in there.

But like I said if you get it cheap it is worth the risk.

I had a buddy with a V10 Dodge truck that got it worse than this and over the hood. THey dried it out and changed the fluids and nary an issue years later.
