Question front plate

I'm interested in purchasing a red ss with the red inserts. Problem is I can't locate one in Pennsylvania. Have located several in adjoining states, but the dealers have already installed the front license plate bracket. Pennsylvania does not require a front plate. How bad is the front bumper messed up when the front license plate bracket is removed.

Should be just 2 holes to deal with. I have 2 placement dimples on the front bumper and the plate bracket in a bag in the storage locker.

Mine is riveted onto the bumper cover with 4 rivets IIRC Not even bolted, I can only assume the factory put it on . . . . . . .

I just bought mine out of state where no plate was installed.

but here in Ohio you have to have a front. I'm going to look into one of my street rod magazines and look at the devices that hide the plate when you want.

Mine was just two holes, it didnt look that bad, but my HHR is black, that helped hide them.
And then I hit a deer and had the bumper cover replaced and I made sure they did not put the bracket on.
I would have rather had the holes in the front bumper rather than hit the deer and have it repleced

Although I bought mine in FL where no front plate is required, the dealer installs a bracket and their dealer plate on every vehicle. I had 4 holes (from rivets) to deal with. Two in the Black panel and two below in the painted portion of the bumper. I replaced the black panel and still have to deal with the two other holes. My paln is to fill the holes and leave two small dimples similar to the origninal factory finish and use a touchup paint pen from dealer to match the paint.

The factory supplies 4 rivets to install the bracket. There are only to locating indents.

Many dealers just use 2 screws to put the brackets on.

Matt check out the thread I posted on the folding plate bracket that is out. It fits real well. I pull it up when I need it and put it down when I don't want it. I only had to drill 2 holes under the nose to mount it.

The company is coming out with a electric one in about a year and I plan to upgrade.
