And it turns out that there are at least 2 different Cobalt FE5, the turbo FE5 is not the same as SC FE5.
This particular SS model sure has been confusing, parts-wise. I was to a point of selling or trading mine off a month ago. It's been such a nice car to own and I just really like the way it drives and handles overall. I may replace a few other pieces on it affected by the higher milage and park it. Maybe buy something else to drive and keep the miles off of it for now.

Once it is all settled in getting the details on whatever the final solution is for these axles, I'd appreciate an update and I'll do an addition to the PARTS thread for the axles so we get it recorded in with the other parts.

Once again - guys, that is a great job - I am totally impressed with the co-operation and work involved. Congrats all round.

And FMG - you are right, that dark chrome liftgate handle isn't your color - pink would work however.
I will definitely keep you updated as to what I find out. I received the axle today from David(2005HHRauto) and then turned around and shipped it off to The Driveshaft Shop. Hope to hear something from them in the next week or so.

For those following this post, the replacement 2008-2010 HHR Turbo/Automatic Level 2 Front axles are now available through The Driveshaft Shop | Chevrolet - Domestic Axles. The part number is RA5107L2. Mine were shipped out on January 19, 2018 and I plan to install them in the next week or two. These are an upgraded version of the discontinued original GM part number 15938134. Additionally, The Driveshaft Shop also services what they sell and were pleasant to deal with.

Being it's probably the first one shipped/developed for the SS, it probably isn't in their catalogue yet.

jojo - let us know how they fit on the installation, and your impression of the product once you get it rolling. This is awesome for the SS/Auto guys.

ps: I have updated the parts list ( https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...33/#post791993 ) with:

AXLES - SS Automatic -- suggested by jojothetattooboy
- GM has discontinued 15938134 - for the front axles on the 2008, 2009 and 2010 HHR SS models with the automatic transmission
- a stage 2 axle is available via http://www.driveshaftshop.com/ - part number RA5107L2 (2008-2010 HHR Turbo/Automatic Level 2 Front Axle) - jojothetattooboy ordered the first set (waiting to hear how they fit/work out)

They may not be on the site for awhile. These are the first ones and were just shipped out Friday the 19th.

Yes, These were the first ones made. The length was basically all they had to establish, based off the original I sent them.

My goal is to install them sometime in the next few weeks. I don't anticipate any problems and will for sure keep everyone posted on the final result.
