I think thats why i miss my Civic sometimes. I could rip through gears and it would take and obey the punishment and the stage 2 clutch helped a lot too

I have had to do that as well and if I just keep the clutch in and hit fourth then back up to third it goes, reverse does this sometimes and so does first. Little annoying.

I hate the 2-3 and 4-3 shift in regular driving. I find the more spirited the driving the better it shifts. I figure at the rate I'm going I'll shred the trans in less than 3 years. No lift shifts improve upon it but still arent great.

come to think of it I have never ever liked a GM manual transmission hence my trans am being an Auto.

This transmission makes me miss my old 5.0 Mustang. That thing was indestructable!

My SS shifts fine in spirited driving, including no-lift shifts. It's not the quickest or smoothest gearbox in the world, and I don't try to shift super-quick like I could in my Integra where you could literally flick the shifter from 3-4. I'm a bit more deliberate with the SS shifter, but it's never missed or ground a gear

The only time I have real issues is at the drag strip and a night of 2nd gear burn outs...trans gets hot and and says F.U.

Are these the clips that need to be reseated (off-white plastic blocks through the hole)? (pic stolen from c2vette in an unrelated thread)...

I haven't experienced the wall many of you speak of, just missed a few shifts (usually 2 -3) but mostly my fault. If you think this tranny isn't any good, try it in a non SS Had a LT that it felt like I needed to pull the shifter into the back seat on a 1 - 2 shift.

You got that right! I've owned five Foxes through the years all equipped with the T-5 and it was both smooth and rock solid. Still learning the box in my '08 Bullitt but with only 2k on the clock I'm confident I'll get better the more miles I put on it. I'm sure this is true with most folks who are now driving new cars with different transmissions.

2nd gear burn out. I did not think the clutch would put up with that more than once.
