My guess is it needs to be adjusted. Could be bad or a bad wire or a bad connection but those would have a code associated.

The sensor signal should be 0 Volts fully released and 5 volts fully depressed.

This will be very helpful thank you! I also came across a few videos where they just disconnect the switch and the car starts, can I test it this way too?

It’s your car, sure you can, just make sure it’s in neutral!

I'm not sure how it works either but one video was a Mitsubishi and another I have no idea. I'm gonna get readings on it anyway just thought it might work, probably doesn't hurt to try at this point

So I tried unplugging the thing and as mentioned nothing happened. I tried following the procedure for measuring with the meter and I think my meter is as old as my dad. So from what I gathered from it the readings for the harness seem proper, taking into consideration how the reader works. The 5V reference wire only pulled out 4 volts instead of 5, but the battery was down 1 volt and needed charged. Based on this, the other readings seemed to be in the respectable realm of what the picture uploaded says. So my next step would be swapping the brake sensor with the clutch sensor. What if this still doesn't work?

never got to it til earlier. But I'm lost now. I unscrewed the brake and clutch sensor and swapped them. Shouldn't the brake sensor when moved with the pedal (I moved the fork by hand) turn the brake lights on? If so, my brake lights didn't change from light to no light, or light to bright. Swapping the sensors and swapping them back, while moving the forks on them made no change to lighting or attempts to start. Its hard to explain but regardless what I tried nothing changed. So either both sensors are shot, or something from the fuse box to the sensors is?

I had the key in and the key on. My brake lights are on as soon as I turn the key on. Even with sensors swapped AND completely disconnected, my brake lights are always on
