HHR SS test drive on Jalopnik
Am I getting the right picture here ? :
1. This was GM's presentation of the HHR SS to the press (for first drives, testing, etc.), and they were told not to report on it until Monday 12-17-07.
2. GM will have an official announcement of the HHR SS now being available, along with release of pricing, etc. , also on Monday.
This would explain why none of the Auto mags have (up until now) had anything about the actual production HHR SS's, and why there has been no official posting of the price structure.
My ordered HHR SS was supposedly built last week and is on its way, but the dealer has not been given the VIN or any other information about the status. Hopefully, all this will will open up on Monday.

During my first few laps at the Bondurant road course I got stuck with both Edmund's Dan Pund and my first taste of a slushbox HHR SS. After two laps each Dan and I were rolling our eyes. This thing was tuned where? Certainly not on Green Hell. The gearbox seemed to shift just for the hell of it and we were totally under whelmed. Sadly Chevy believes that the automatic HHR SS will account for 70% of sales. We're saying sadly because with the stick the car is a blast.
