hid fog question

What is the extra wires with the stock plug for. On the south end of the pic. Guess it must be to jump the power from bulb socket to the ballast if it isn't mounted close enough, maybe it needs it any way, looks heavier, to handle some heat??

SS fan: If your headlights are Hi/Lo, then it gets a little complicated of the hookup, from the above pics.
The orignal HID setup, L/H headlight would flicker, R/H sometimes would'nt stay on.
I am now about to replace my Hid's with a better setup, using a relay harness for the headlights.
According to supplier[talked to him in person] the two extra plugs on the Bi-level headlight are not plugged into anything. The larger plug[H-13 plug], cut the two wires off plug, and splice them into the Halogen Hi/beam harness, on both headlights. Other plug can be cut off. This is of course if you use a relay harness, which draws power directly from the Batt. The daytime light fuse, needs to be pulled with any Hid hookup.
My first Hid setup was without relay harness, and it was a lot simpler hookup, but did'nt work. Hopefully this setup will work better.
Fog Hid's are real easy, just plug factory harness into ballast, and fog into ballast, and your good to go.
Hope this did'nt sound confusing, as I was also, with the relay harness hookup. All the scematics, really don't show how to hook up with a relay harness, thts looks easy. "Moon"

Thanks Moon, I'm installing the Hids with the relay harness, it runs to the battery, and plugs to one stock light plug, I guess thats where it picks up the HI/lo signal, I never use Hi beams but thought it was the right way to go. So which fuse is the DRL ??

Sorry I'm changing the headlights too they run 80% power to do the drl with the low beam, and I think that is bad for hids, but I an useing the adaptor for the H/L function to work and it powers from the battery, only using the light plug from the drivers sid to catch the H/L switch I think ?? Took the bumper off, still tight with the tires, so I'll do the wiring before/ during I change the fixture. Here's the rest of the pile.

At this point Sam, have you started to doubt the "Simple, Easy, 15 minute installation" part of the instructions yet?

You're a braver man than I Gunga Din.
