Interested in purchasing a HHR, but worried about reliability..
Wow, so I never thought this decision would be so hard..
I had pretty much dumped the idea of getting an HHR in favor of an XB, but I thought more and more about how the issues people are having on these forums are probably a few out of many happy owners. This, coupled with the fact that XB's hold their value notoriously well has me looking at the SS's again.
I am in the Army and scheduled to deploy to the 'Stan' next April, so the earliest I could pick one up would probably be early 2014. By then the youngest SS will be about four years old, and if I can find one with lower mileage (30k or under), I would assume I could grab one for about $10,000.
Does this sound reasonable? Is there any reason I shouldn't consider buying a four year old SS?

Trying to find one 4 years old with that low of miles is really going to limit your search. And usually lower mileage cars fetch a higher price.
$10,000? I would doubt it. BUT, depending on how the economy goes, well you just never know. Good Luck on the search.

Ok. 18 months or so from now, those low mileage ones will have more miles added to them.
If you don't care about which options the car has(color,auto,5 speed,sunroof,etc.etc.) then wait and look for that low mileage car. I'm just saying your choices will be limited. Hope you find one when the time arrives.
Fwiw. All 2010 SS's have a sunroof, ebony interior, and no roof racks.
