Its an interesting read. Especially when you consider the first section pertaining to the Sportsman ECOTEC Race engine and the fact our stock SS with PCM reprogram can achieve close to what they are talking (up to 400HP) about w/o resorting to replacing pistons/rods/adj cam gears and nitrous/turbo.
Essentially, our LNF engine is Version 2.0 of ECOTEC technology. Much of the performance mods LNF, such as the piston skirt oilers, was not previously available in production automobiles.
I only hope this little 4 banger will last as long (if not longer) than my venerable old school 3.8L 6 cylinder supercharged engine (2 valve/cylinder, regular rockers, etc). My Impala's pushing 140K+ miles and still has plenty of power. I love the Impala room and overall power, but I'm failing in love with the quick spool up/boost and tight handling of the HHR SS!

Too bad this article doesn't really apply to LNFs.
