Smile Joining the SS ranks

I went to the dealer yesterday to test drive the SS he has as well as the Panel he has on his lot. Of course I just had to try the SS first. Never got to the Panel. LOL It's a 2010 silver ice with an ebony interior, 35k and a 5 speed. Pictures to come soon. It is a Virginia vehicle and I saw the car fax. No wrecks or major problems. MINT. He gave me the keys and said, " just let the turbo warm up a little first for about a mile or so". I pulled out into traffic and babied it for a little and when I felt a mile passed, I decided to goose it a little. Holy crap, I thought, this thing threw me back in the seat. It was totally amazing, this car has more horses than my V8. I couldn't even listen to the radio, which sounded awesome, I was more interested in the sound of this "little 4 banger". I just glanced over all the other features and am sure I'll take the time to explore that stuff later. The shifter has the short throw in it and the damn thing practically shifts itself. I was thoroughly impressed with this test drive. I drove it for about 10 miles and decided to head back to the dealer. I parked it , looked at the front wheels and found Brembos on it. Cool beans. I didn't even haggle over the price, $17k, put a deposit down and am patiently waiting till Monday for the financial gurus to finance me and get insurance on it. It's 97% done and I anxiously await Monday. Merry Christmas to me !!!! I had to tell someone so you guys were the first ones I thought of. So it appears I will be joining the SS ranks. Happy happy joy joy....

Welcome to the SS club.

If it's got the Brembos, then it has the limited slip differential and the bigger rotors. That was the contents of the optional Performance Pkg.

This, by far, is the best thing I have ever gotten for myself. I can't wait to get her home and begin the "personalizing" process. Totally awesome....

Yours being a 2010, it should be equipped exactly as mine is since you have the Brembos. The 2010's were pretty much all the same. Only real options were: color, transmission, 5 speed or auto and the Performance pkg. option with the 5 speed only.
This is my window sticker. Yours should be be just like this.

Congratulations!

Now all you have to do is have the GMTU installed!

Good luck with the panel, I think those are bad ass. The GMTU, is that the tune everyone is talking about on the site ?

Yes and no. I have that, and Trifecta tune. I got the Dealer to throw it in while buying the SS. the good part of the Gm tune is the warranty, bad part is that most have connector or rubbing wire problems. With an aftermarket tune you can get way more power, but risk invalidating the warranty.

If I had it to do over I would just skip GMTU and get Trifecta.
