KNN intake kits now available

I just got my new KNN catalog for 09 today.

They have a listing for the 2008 2.0 HHR. The part number is 63-3069. This may not mean the parts are ready to ship yet but they should be soon.

Note the system is no legal in California as of yet. CARB testing takes longer and more money so it may be a little longer till they offer this system with a CARB number.

Also note there is nothing listed for the 09 yet. This may be due to the fact it still needs to be tested and approved on a 09 model yet.

Either way this system has no HP increase listed yet as at the time of printing I would assume they have not gotten the dyno numbers yet.

I had one of these KNN intake systems on my last pick up truck and it really did give me a little more power and it did increase my MPG by 1 MPG.

Note these systems will make noise. They sound like a old 4 barrel carb at WOT. Some folks love the sound some hate it so be aware of this before you buy.

The turbo in the SS is quiet as turbos go. The noise I speak of is the air going into the intake tube. KNN systems lack the baffling that kills the intake noise. The Auto MFGs are required to meet drive by noise standards and while these baffles kill the noise but they are restrictive. THis is where most of the performance is gained as KNN does not have to meet OEM driveby standard.

These noise standards even dictate what tires they used as many aftermarket tires will not meet OEM goverment standards for drive by noise.

the noise you will hear is like a 4 barrel carb and the sound of rushing air. If anything the lettle turbo sound you get would get covered up more by the intake.

No it wouldn't void warranty. I also like the plastic idea also because of less heatsoak. I want to see pictures as well though

I believe that one member did some testing on restriction of the stock intake and found that there was VERY little, and it would be hard for an aftermarket intake to make any gains.
You may gain sound and looks, but I wouldn't expect to see much on the dyno numbers.

Well let see some numbers before we too carried away with this either way.

I am interested what they have done. It can't be any worse. The 2.4 intaske kit is doing 9.3 HP over stock.

If it is only 10 HP that would be enough to push the stage kit to 300 HP. I like round numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it make gains, and would love to have that nice round number you spoke of , hoping, just not expecting it.

You may not see the same HP gain on the 2.0 as the 2.2 or the 2.4, most likely they will differ. and will depend on the intake-exhaust combo you try.

5 HP would make it proven though. you are correct though, it might not show much by itself but the combo; IC piping, IC, DP, and exhaust would benefit from it. TQ would go up as well.
