Aftermarket is not always better! It may decrease HP for gains in sound and better looks?? Not saying it will, but could. Especially with one that flows as well as our does...

I hope K&N posts some dyno results.... That we can believe

Most intakes that are properly done will show 8 HP -17 HP real power. Most time is will vary just based on what the factory did.

Either way I only expect 9-10 HP or knowing KNN they would not have even fooled with it.

Dont be fooled unless you have the same car with and without the mod's.

My car can serve as a good base line for a Manual car, puttin down more then rated stock to the wheels (These are SAE)

Stage Kit is on the way so we shall see later this year when I go to the dyno again.

??? Not sure what this is about? I would say GM is underrating thier engines as always. My Z28 put down 303 RWHP stock and rated at 305 hp LOL

Too true! Thats why I edited my posting, underrating is very common. If anything its good for our insurance lol.

Just offering up my dyno as a bone stock comparison. You ever dyno yours with the mod's?

GM for the most is pretty much dead on on their ratings. There have been a few cars underated like the SC Ecotec. But with Ford overrating power on the Cobra as has some of of the Asian brands GM has played it pretty close to the posted numbers the last few years. In fact they even have bragged on it.

Now as for local Dynos I have seen the same car give two different readings on two different dynos. How good a dyno is and who is running it can effect how accurate it is.

We had a few guys local here running a Mustang Dyno at cruise in's. They would trump up the numbers to make everyone happy. We saw numbers from cars we knew what they had and they were way off and too high on the HP.

Too true, keeping consistent is key same dyno same temperature is a big factor.

Usually mustangs are lower than dynojet. Depends though, I hear turbocars benifit from mustang dynos... some sorta load thing.

Those numbers are from a dynojet btw.

cold intake

the biggie is COLD, the air must come from a cooler location, say low in the fenderwell, kits with filter in engine compartment are of little help, also if there are screens in the MAF, gains can be made by removing them, yea i heard you can't do that but, i did 125,000 miles ago on my 01 turbo jetta, no problems

I would say your numbers are pretty spot on for a 5 speed SS.

Here are mine with about 1200 miles on the odo. (bone stock)

The cars actually make more power/boost when run hot.

That graph with the catback and downpipe? Or before?

Have you run it since you had those installed?
