So got the swap started. Currently on hold due to spec stage 2+ clutch I got, holes in the pressure plate don't fit the dowels on the flywheel. Believe the dowels are 6mm on the flywheel but spec kit has 10mm holes in the pressure plate?

Spec and ZZP has assured me that this shouldn't matter, but I'm having a hard time believing that. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?
Also, just for reference, tried the stock pressure plate on the new ZZP flywheel and it fit perfectly, dowel holes were the same size. I have an 08 HHR SS with the MU3 transmission.

Pics of progress

How many miles are on the original engine ?
Does there look to be a lot of coking on the back side of the intake valves ?
Thanks

About 90,000 miles on the original engine and it was still running fine, just had a lot of intermittent CEL's here and there. Just got tired of dealing with them every couple of months. Haven't had a chance to inspect the valves yet, but when I do I'll take some pics of them and post here.

Are you installing the front guide upper bolt as RJ did?

Yes. If you look at the 4th post, second pic down, it shows it in there already, if that's the same one that catman was showing up close?

Update:
Pressure plate dowel issue handled. Had to have new dowels milled from scratch as the ones spec sent me were 12mm stepped to 10mm. Spec wanted me to have the new flywheel milled to fit them, which would have limited my clutch options going forward to using the same spec clutch, which I wasn't willing to do. Needless to say, don't get the spec clutch for this, or you'll be opening up a can of worms to deal with. Next clutch will NOT be from spec, but hopefully I won't have to worry about that for some time.

Transmission installed, engine installed to the cradle, running some wiring for wideband o2, oil pressure, and water temp gauges, then going back in the car. After that I'm replacing the entire cooling system (hoses and radiator) and installing the Hahn intercooler and charge pipes kit, a little break in for a couple hundred miles, then rpm tune is getting booted up.
