Recaro has a couple seat lines (Sport, and Style) that can be equipped with their heating elements and cooling system.

There are only two heating steps, whereas friend's Z4 has 3, but it's good enough. GM never offered a heated or leather seat option for the SS. And now that the SS has been discontinued, we know it never will.

Has anyone done a retrofit of leather/heated seats to an SS? One way would be to try to find heated leather seats from a totalled 2LT and also do wiring. However, then the sports seats' additional support would be gone. The better way, in my opinion, would be to reupholster the sports seats with a better grade of leather and install seat heaters in the process.

If I were to step up to a used SS in 2-3 years, I would want to do one or the other.
I had a 2007 2LT,black, identical to yours. I loved the leather heated seats. I traded in my 07 for the 09 SS and I have to admit, the main thing holding me back was the seats. I didnt love the SS seats and was really going to miss the leather heated seats. I see no reason why GM could not have offered leather heated seats with the SS logo just like the cloth ones in the SS.

My local upholstery shop wants about $250 per seat, parts and labor to outfit the SS seats with a kit. Or do it yourself here. Not as nice as the factory buttons on the waterfall, but maybe they can be found on eBay if it's important to some.

So just checking to see if anyone has actually installed heated seats using the factory switch, wiring etc.

I have everything now but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe after T-Day. I have the HVAC module, the two under-seat controllers and four heaters. I have confirmed the HVAC module works and will trigger the seat controllers without any changes (plugs right in). The wiring to the seats isn't there but it's easy to add.

I'll post once I get around to it.
