Had 1.5 in. lowering springs both front & rear installed on my 08- Still have a rake --the front end is perfect (low enough since they are pretty low stock-- but I would like to get the rear a little lower to decrease the wheel well gap & to level it out
What have yall done (not talking about coil overs) to accomplish this . 2.5 -3 in. lowering springs in rear ?? any issues with suspension with getting a little lower to take up that gap
Still have the stock springs but really dont wont to cut them because of the uncertainty of how much .

Never cut springs! All of those 57 Chevys have proved it it is a bad idea.
There are lowering springs or you can use Cobalt springs. Lots of posts on the subject; seems like everybody wants to lose a couple hundred pounds of capacity. For one thing lowering the rear reduces the weight on the front wheels, then loading it up you end up with under steer you won't believe. The suspension is very well engineered for weight distribution; loading 400 Lb does not lower the rear very much.

Can't cut them. That would knock off the small tapered end of the spring.............the part that's needed for the springs to mount on the axle.
Besides. Trying to go that low in the rear from where your's is now will bring up new problems. Jounce bumpers would need to be cut down/shortened, Shocks will bottom out. (you'll need shorter ones) and youll have virtually no ground clearance.

Not trying to slam it --just trying to get rear down a little more -maybe 2-1/2 - inches or so total Its lowered 1.3- 1.5 range now - So based upon that,do you think I would run into bump stop & shock issues

Canuck Motorsports lowering springs, a full 2 inches out back and 1 1/2 inches up front. Installed in spring of 2010 at 58,000 miles, still in the car now I sold it in October 2019 at 286,000 miles, it’s always rode nice and level. Tell ‘em Oldblue sent you!
not sure I know what you mean about function . . I guess you are referring to suspension travel , dampening ,rough riding etc.

5 inch front , 2 inch spindles, 3 inch springs 8 inch rear , 2 inch spring perch , 2 inch spring shackles, 4 inch dearched leaf springs. I didn’t want to cut the box floor, so just c notched the frame .
