Red face LNF Lower ChargePipe from ZZP Concern

Hello Forum
so I got myself I Intercooler kit from ZZP and I was reading that the Lower intercooler pipe will not fit because mine is an automatic (they didn't specify that when I bought it) but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this situation like me.

I also read somewhere on this forum that someone had to cut it to make it work is this true?

if it doesn't work what can I do? does someone make it for us Automatics

PLEASE HELP!
THANKS in ADVANCE!

I've been trying to find out the answer to this question as well. I was considering buying the same kit.

From what I recall from a few years back, that lower intercooler pipe was originally designed for the Cobalts equipped with the LNF engine.

Since the Cobalt didn't offer an automatic as an option, ZZP didn't design the pipe to fit around the engine mounts of an automatic equipped LNF vehicle like the HHR SS.

Perhaps contacting ZZP will provide both of you with a workaround.

Just an FYI, they are closed until January 2nd.

From what I've read, there are a couple autos out there that are running the Hahn pipes. I know that doesn't help the op since he already has zzp pipes.

Well after some communication with ZZP they still do not have one made for automatics. They told me they have been trying to get a Auto HHR SS in there shop for a while. They would need someone to drop off there vehicle and leave it for a week and that way they can make one. I think they said that they will give them the first one to roll of the line for free or so that's what Ive been told. Wish I didn't buy it already and I was hoping to put this in this weekend. There goes my Christmas gift, but the good thing is a buddy of mine will take it off my hands and purchase it. Good for me financially but not emotionally!

Well now we need an SS automatic owner near Wyoming Michigan to contact the folks at ZZP and make arrangements to drop off their HHR at ZZP's shop.

I'm sure they'll take good care of it, and somehow make it worth your while.

I'd gladly loan them mine for a couple weeks if only I was closer.

ZZP lower pipe for auto

I have an auto and live about an hour away. I'll check with them and see if we can work something out if they make it worth my while.

ZZP auto lower charge pipe

I just emailed Steve at ZZP and we are going to set up a time in a couple weeks for me to take mine in and have them fab up a lower charge pipe for auto's. He said he would need it for 2-3 days and will even give me a car to drive. Best of all I'll get to keep it. I'm gonna have him throw the upper pipe on at the same time.
