Lower Control Arms

Need to replace lower control arms on my '09 SS. From what I can tell from other threads the part numbers are 45D3595 and 45D3596. My only question is has anyne bought these and installed them sucessfully. Because some vendors list them as not compatible with the SS. Thanks for the help

From the part number thread:

Lower Control Arm - SS models ONLY (FE5 suspension)
IMPORTANT: they are only available thru GM - No after-market suppliers make a compatible part at this time, even though they may say the parts they have are for all HHR's
- GM - P/N: 25930724 - Right
- GM - P/N: 25930725 - Left

There is no alternative since nobody sells the correct ball joints; you can't even rebuild your own.

Hmm. Did a Google search with those numbers. What I see is AC Delco Professional (Cheap)---stamped steel (wrong for HHR). My guess is it's a Cobalt part that some vendors say will fit.
The Amazon ad said "Would Not Fit" for the SS.

Do yourself a favor and find the genuine GM LCA's for the SS. May cost you more, but it's usually a one time purchase anyhow--------without all the headaches of getting the wrong parts.

I searched RockAuto by GM part numbers , they have both part numbers listed.
Don’t forget their discount code!

Beware- RockAuto also lists a MEVOTECH LCA (CMS50173 etc) as being compatible for the SS - and does list the correct GM part numbers for it, but also includes the part numbers for non-SS models, so stay away from the MEVOTECH ones.

Huh?

I have been thinking about rebuilding my front suspension on my 09 SS so this thread caught my eye.

I clicked on the links for the genuine GM control arms provided in the post and an interesting thing happened. I put my model information in for both. Both say they are for FE5 but.....

Just for kicks I checked a 2008 SS, came back with different numbers;15787555 & 15787556 which are LT/LS control arms. Apparently they don't know what fits either.
