My transmission has worked flawlessly since it and the clutch and flywheel were replaced after they blew-up after 50 miles. I was pretty annoyed when I was without my car for two weeks but have been shifting happy since! Manual is the only way to go for me.

Most mods you do to a vehicle will not void the warranty automatically (within reason), but if the mod causes a failure to another component. That would not be a warranty repair. Now GM wants us to check for aftermarket tunes when there is powertrain failures and if found they void the powertrain warranty. But lets say you have an aftermarket tune and the CEL comes on due to a bad cam sensor. Most dealers will just go ahead and cover it, but they don't have to and can deny warranty if they want to due to the aftermarket program.

Example: You put a lift kit on a truck. An A-frame cracks = not covered. The carrier bearing explodes = not covered. The vehicle developes "launch shudder" on take offs = not covered.

Example: You install a oiled air filter system. Oil gets on the MAF sensor causing CEL. The MAF would not be covered.
