MPX Intercooler

I'm looking at buying a MPX Intercooler from a Cobalt SS TC owner. Emailed MPX about fitment on my '09 HHR SS and they gave me a vague answer saying they thought there was some reason why it wouldn't fit. But they had no specific answer as to what the difference was. I've been told by some HHR and Cobalt owners that the MPX intercooler would fit. Anybody got up front and personal experience on this?
Thanks, Ray in TX.

It mounts the same as thr stocker. I dont think you'll have any issues. Its the inrs that mount different than stock that have fitment issues between the cobalt and hhr

Just curious how much you paid for the I/C, if you don't mind me asking? I might be in the market for one soon...

Wink MPX Intercooler

I think they retail for $350 plus shipping @ Modern Performance website. I bought mine used (3months old) for $250 shipped. If you're cheap like me and wait long enough you'll find a good used aftermarket intercooler (MPX, ZZP, Hahn, etc.) at a decent price. People are always upgrading, or returning to stock configuration. Check around here and the Cobalt sites. Maybe even the Sky, Solstice, or Redline sites for other various parts that are fitment matches.
Thanks, Ray.

I know this is an old thread but I picked up an MPX locally for $200 (smoking deal) and installed it myself in under 4hrs.

Couple points of interest:
- For the most part it is a stock replacement/stock fit. I used all the stock hardware (except the stock brackets) and did not have to drill any holes.

- I spent more time realizing that I had to cut small slits on the underside of the front clip to get it to fit properly, that was the hardest part and really did a number on the crappy "clip system" used to hold the front clip on.

- It is very comparable to the ZZP/Hahn inner-cooler in size @ a great price.
