Why is it signifigant to the 0-60 and 1/4 times to have a rear sway bar upgrad?

I have never heard any correlation between upgrading the rear sway bar and an improvement in 0-60 times, or 1/4 mile times.

Sway bar upgrades can improve your handling, but on a drag strip, they're just dead weight.

Maybe you're thinking about "Traction Bars" which can control the front to rear weight transfer that occurs when you launch off the line.

We have some folks here who actively drag race their HHR's so I'm sure they'll weigh in once they see this thread. Or try using the "Search" function at the top of the page for threads relating to drag racing.

P.S. to the forum!

Welcome to the site.

So. Where did you get this info from?
As far as the HHR is concerned, the rear swaybar is just going to help out with the body roll when cornering. Not going to help out in straight line times.
Like Mike stated above, maybe you're refering to traction bars or even ladder bars.

I've even heard of hardcore front wheel drive drag racers replacing the rear springs with solid aluminum blocks, or otherwise blocking the rear suspension from having any travel to avoid front to rear weight transfer.
