Welcome!

A tune is a must have for these cars... 300+ hp/tq(at the crank) with a tune and 23+ lbs of boost

Be sure to try out the newly revised and Google linked Search function in the Navbar up at the top of the page, tons of ideas to give your SS more oomph.

Can they run that much boost without changing anything though?

The GM Turbo Upgrade kit changes the two MAP sensors and reflashes the PCM. GM 12 months / 12,000 miles warranty in effect.

Goes crazy fast!

I know. I just did the upgrade on my "new to me" 08 which I purchased a month ago.

Is this available at any Chevrolet dealer and what's the approximate cost? I just picked up a 2008 HHR SS myself a few weeks ago and love it. How does this upgrade, or any 'tune' for that matter affect gas mileage? I'm currently getting 25-26 in town and 30+ on the highway and don't really care to lose that.
