Welcome to the site, I’d get the SS.
Just for info I just drove from my home in Welland Ontario Canada to Orleans Mass. on Cape Cod, lots of hills rolling thru the mountains thru NY and Mass. no problem keeping up to traffic running at 75 to 85 mph at times a straight run on 83 octane in my 2.2 Auto LS.
Best ride in a 4 cylinder vehicle I’ve ever owned.
So, I’ve you get that SS, have a or do it yourself a leak down test , compression test, and a coolant test. Just to confirm a starting point.
If you’re happy with the numbers, and you buy it.
Get it home, change the oil and filter ( some people tend to thru cheap stuff into a car they are selling)
Flush and fill the coolant, Dexcool only please! It has a 5 Year shelve life so it’s due!
Drive the wheels of it, enjoy the ride and get some muscle ointment for your face , that permanent ear to ear grin!
