No armrest with Manual transmission

I have a manual transmission in my SS and no armrests but noticed that you get armrests with the automatic. I understand that the armrest would interfere with spirited shifting, but on long trips I would like to have the option.... I was thinking about installing all of the parts from the automatic version on the passengers side seat (I usually use that one on my other car anyways).

Has anyone ever done this? Was it difficult? Expensive?

Comments?

Do a search on this. I do believe there was someone here that has added one on a manual. If memory serves, the only real issue was getting all the parts. Some were shipped and some backordered. It might be better served to find a wrecked HHR and get the mounting pieces, just order the actual armrest.

I don't have an SS, but I do have a manual transmission in my LS. I find that the arm rest on the drivers side doesn't interfere with my shifting. I just place my arm between the two. It's a little snug, but it works for me.

Ask and you shall receive.... WOW THANKS!
It looks like my parts cost will be between $150 - $228.
Any regrets?

i just intstalled all my parts, just still waiting on the arm rest(pn#25872601 Armrest). basicly i have a bolt sticking out just waiting for the arm rest. there will be NO regrets from me. i would suggest NOT to order them from gmpartsdirect.com. just get them from your local dealer. they cost a little more from the local dealer but they dont charge you for shipping and gmpartsdirect.com charges the piss out of you for shipping so you pretty much end up paying close to the same. i oredered all my parts from gm.p.d.com and they ended up canceling some of my parts because the parts were on back order so i had to get them from my local dealer anyways. so trust me when i tell you just go to your local dealer. it was a big headache...

I got a call from my local dealer that the armrest came in today after about a two week wait. All of the other mounting parts were available. Can't wait to get it put on.

Is the bracket same from driver to passenger side just fliped? and is there any differnce on how they mount to the seat? Do I still need that cover It does not look like the seats are the same left to right?

Does anyone have a pic of the performance driver seat taken from the driver side? the only referance I have is a Auto car with no performance package. And when I can get to the dealer they are closed due to my work schedual.

I don't have my car yet, the order has not even been processed waiting on Oshawa. I want to have all these parts in so that when I get my car I can do the conversion right away.

Also does anyone have the part #'s for the performance seat cover and pad that Jookster126 installed in his car...... mine would have to be the ebony/grey.

Thanks for all the help I appreciate it.
