No Brakes!!

Okay, I was out of town for about a week i get back and was leaving for work today i backed out of the garage and the brake pedal was rock hard, I had to stand on it to stop the car. I pumped on it about 10 times and it started to loosen but it sounded crunchy by the 15th pump it was back to normal. does anyone know what that could have been???? P.S. its an auto with 450mi on it i've had it since july 1st

You need to wait a minute or so until the Vacuum tank refills

I asked the same thing and i think the car has to build vacum or something for a minute cuz if you ever get in after not driving it a while watch your boost gauge it biulds vacum like crazy then goes back to normal.

Just watch the boost gauge. at -10 you're good to go. I had to educate my wife about this a couple weeks ago.

You mean I need to engage my brain to drive this vehicle? What fun is that?

Really I dont think Chevy should put a vehicle in service that is dangerous to drive when it first starts up. If my wife was driving it and someone or something was behind it she would not have been able to stop. That is a HUGE design flaw, forget educating my wife she gets in starts it and backs up no waiting for her.....

I think the TSB mentioned the vehicle being parked for an extended period of time. 1 week doesn't seem like an extended period of time in my book. It sounds like there's a small leak somewhere in that particular vehicle's brake system.
