That is how GM tells them to do it, and that's how they have to do it. I talked to 4 or 5 different people, different dealers and GM people that have bought cars, and whatever the GMS price is, that's it. They not "allowed" to sell the car for less then that, or they get in trouble with GM. A lot of people will naysay on that, but that's how it is. You can negotiate more for your trade, which is what i did, but that's about it. the GMS price is there so you basically don't have to haggle with them, you can walk in, point at a car, say you want it and get 2 grand or so off of it and then any additional rebates.

Ok it is like I thought, Saturn type pricing. I was not sure if the dealers were pulling something or GM was just making the call.

Thanks on confirming what was going on.

Hey hyperv6......

Not sure about about your GTP...I've never seen a dyno test done....but the dyno tests I have seen, reveals the 2.4 ltr. HHR loses 3-4 hp, when using regular unleaded (87) over premium unleaded (91). That is when the tank is completely purged and refilled. Another example, it's about 12 hp on the Vette LS3 engine.

I read where someone from Pontiac said back when I bought it in 04 that the series three 3800 SC was 240 HP on regular and 260 HP on High test.

Matter of fact Mark Clawson who was the Monte Carlo and Impala marketing guy at the time told be the same thing. He wanted this engine in the SS MC and SS Impala since they could be run on regular as a benifit to the value of a Chevy. He never got it but he finally did get the V8 before he moved on.

I just run high test but have tried the regular. It does make a noticable differance. It will pull the steering wheel out of your hand on 91.

But then again this is a FWD GP family car and not a race car. I just bought it as it was peppy, fun and the wife wanted it, but I would not call it fast. So I never really cared or worried about doing any dyno time on it.

Overall on regular it is very driveable and will not do any damage to the engine or be a hazzard on the road.

In fact on regular it is still a little more peppy than my SSEI was. But that is what about 350 pounds will do for you.

Hyper, I got the black/grey combo. The black/red combo is the best, but I'll just have to live with mine.

I have the red in mine but I do have a Pontiac with the Black and gray and it look great. I think you will be very happy with it.

I noted the Earnhardt note. Did you by chance get it at Earnhardt Chevy in Newton? If not you might want to get one of there emblems. It would look good on the back.

Either way you need to post some pic's.

One thing that turned me of about the vibe is the guage layout. They have that strange horizontal oblong gauge that I just couldn't deal with. Another fatal flaw for me is the shifter located up so high as part of the dash.

Hyper, I did not get it at Earnhardt Chevrolet. It's just every time I look out the window at my "baby", all I think is that it's one mean bastard and is just waiting to go out and put some punk ass biotch(Like Kyle Busch) into the wall. Something that "The Intimidator" always liked to do. That's why I call it "Earnhardt Black".

You could not call it anything better.

I go back to the old Wangler days before the second Cup so I understand.

I plan to put a small 3 in my window in due time in my own.

I find it odd to cheer a Roush car Saturday because I hate Toyota and the Shrub so much.

I wish JR would pick it up a little. This slump is getting to me.

I figure once the Shrub hits the wall hard he will not be as fast as he is now. He has not had the bell ringer yet.

SR has some hard crashes but it never slowed him down. That is the differance. Cale was the same way.
