all the SS's I look up at surrounding dealers ALL have automatics, not one a manual.

Are most of the SS's on the lots that you guys find all autos? I'm dying to drive a 5 speed.

been looking all weekend, within 100 miles found 2 sticks of about 25.
You would think being an ss model and such a huge horsepower diff, and a 1000.00 dollar price diff you think they would stock up on the 5spd

well they do make more money with the automatic. That's a $1000 option, so every auto they sell they're pushing just a little more profit. Fewer clutches and synchros to replace under warranty too I would assume.

I would never buy an auto in a HHR but I hope they make 99% auto`s because I work at the GM Windsor Transmission Plant home of the HHR auto.

Seems like around here (southern new england) about 1/3 of those listed are 5spd the rest are Auto. I just wish one of the Local dealers would get Any SS in to check out.

We don't even get manual LS or LT models around here. But, I'm happy with my automatic and use the remote start in extreme cold or heat. It's a nice option.

The remote start would be the only reason I would consider a auto. 5 speed is just so much fun. I'm starting to wonder though if I got lucky with mine, I haven't seen to many 5 speeds at the dealers lately

What the SS really needs is a sequential 5 speed that will take all the HP of the standard.
