OK. Not really, but..........
I was vacuuming the SS today and the shifter boot fake black leather started to peel off. Well I decided to just keep going till all the loose pieces were gone. Before I was done, and with the help of a stiff bristle brush, here is the end result.

 

Split leather.

 

Thanks Don. Had to look up split leather. Wasn't sure what that was.

I wonder if I could dye it on the car ? Or should I just leave it as is.

 

I’d leave it, alone, shame those are obsolete.

 

Easy to stain hard to clean.
