Once in a lifetime racing
you rule !!!! Dam what a blast ! I see nice cars all the time ferrari , lambos , austons, Even a new porche GT . But to see them all running.
And yep . There is full proof radar out there, But it's way pricey , Kinda like the cars that employ it. !

I think they also make a bunch of cash donations to the small radar happy towns they pass. Theres a video on you tube, I saw a few years ago , Where a gumballer gets arrested and ten min later says it cost me $2500 cash to walk away from a 160 mph in a 55 mph zone , So i'm pretty happy right now.

It's all about the money , The ultimate RALLY !
Search viper gumball crash on youtube. You'll know the one when you see it. And they both survive.
Viper , Not so much.

I think the Shelby was their cop spotter, more likely the cops knew they were coming. Most of those cars talk to each other like truckers and tend to travel in "cliques" too, thats why you saw the Brits and Germans bunched up, and the Italians grouped as well. What an experience. Just think of the transportation fees and making all these cars US road worthy, not to mention hotels, dinners, parts, etc. I bet they all have extension pages stapled into their Passports too. Btw, the Gumball is a time-card race, so the guy in front isn't always in 1st. they line up at the start line punch a card and go. there could be seconds, minutes, or maybe even hours between the actual start times for the two groups you saw. It would be intresting to have seen the sprint to the checkpoint in Canada
Yeah you're right actually, they were bunched together. The second to last photo shows only the Enzo, Bentley and one GT3. For some reason 3 miles south of the border one of the GT3's put on his hazards and stopped in the break down lane and the Lambo followed suit. Yeah the first group was more reserved until the A Martin showed up. Those guys were a holes. Stone faced with $1000 sunglasses on. They were in a convertible at 100 mph and their hair wasn't even blowing while some jack ass in a benz is hanging out the window taking their picture.
Guess what my running mate was........a freaking Toyota Tundra!!!!!! Yeah....us Vermonters know how to roll in a pack!!!!!! It wasn't even a new Tundra either...hell...it might have been a T100....I don't effin know!!!!! That was about the only car that didn't pass me........

dollar for hp
That must have been a great ride, I am willing to bet that dollar to hp your SS was one of the fastest. If you take what you spent on you SS and what they spent for their speed, our HHR SS is a great deal and very fast to boot. Like you said most of us are aware that our little wagon isn't the fastest out there but dollar for dollar it will at least keep in sight some of the faster cars out there, and that is something all of us HHR SS owners can be proud of!
Gumball 3000 For Free
Thanks guys. Man...I travelled the same stretch of interstate today and I gotta say....NOT the same. I did find out that the first A Martin that came along side me was actor Idris Elba from The Wire. I also found out that one of the cars I saw headed North after I turned around at the border was rapper Xzibit's car. I don't particularly care about Xzibit but I just barely saw Idris in that movie Obssesion with SMOK'N HOT ALI LARTER!!!!! So that's pretty cool. Yeah I saw on an online newspaper site in Q City that the Mayor and local Govt put a stop to a parade the Gumball people wanted to have once they all got into Quebec City. The officials thought it would get out of hand. This same site also said the entry fee was $46000....YIKES!!!!!! dayview.com or something like that. Anyway....I'm going through the woulda coulda shoulda phase of my good fortune but it is what it is. Hey...does anyone do a SS ride? I mean just SS owners? I read that Idris was supposed to be sponsored by Mini Cooper but they backed out. Our cars are WAAAYYYYY faster than those things. We could do something like that. Maybe not the overseas part but something like that. I don't know...I'm just talking out my ass cause that was a ton of fun and now it's over.
