Onstar and Warranty

Has anyone heard of onstar being able to tell you that you have just voided the warranty on your vehicle. Someone heard that a person had thier RPM's up and onstar came on and told them thier RPM's were high and they just voided thier warranty. I am just curious to see if onstar really has that power or capability.

Im sure they have the capability to know that but to say youve voided your warranty doubtful. They dont know what your doing and you could be doing a numerous amount of thinks like trying to get unstuck or what not. I could be wrong but I dont think they have the power to inform you about that.

I'd call shinanigans on that one. Onstar service moniters crucial systems for issues and needed attention, not driving habits. I'd find it highly unlikely that a contracted customer assistance service has the authorization to void warranties. If they had the where with all to moniter and report my driving habits to GM regularly, they'd lose me and others as a customer in a heartbeat. (pun intended)

If it did happen, then it was a bored rep making his day a little more lively.

Just my opinion

Maybe it's true. My OnStar just called me up and said I need to get the 290 HP upgrade.

really? If onstar called me up to try to sell me something. I'd be saying "I'm not paying for onstar so they can advertise to me" Even tho i do want the stage kit. Hmmm maybe see if you can get like half off if they call again lol

I really hope you guys know I was kidding about OnStar calling me up to sell me the Stage kit. If not, that makes the thread even funnier!

Now, how can I get someone to pay for half of this upgrade......

Uhhh... I'm pretty sure I got it.

Anyway, mine called me today out of the blue, just as a coincidence, and it said my driving habits indicate a very long string of daily commutes without a break. It suggested I take a day or two off.
