over heated

last friday the ss stared running hot. pulled over to investigate and found no coolant in the car what so ever. got it home and did not find any leaks and i was not smoking. so i drove it to the dealer and going on my 10 mile drive there it drank about a gal. of water. the dealer presser tested the system found no leaks but they discovered the head has a problem. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Hmm, I bet people would like to hear more about this. Can you get more details? Did they find a crack in the head, and if so, where exactly was it?

Yes heard of it, one of my lines wasn't hooked on right and when the engine would rock it would seep coolant past it (according to the dealer). All he did was readjust the hose and fixed, no problems since. I caught mine when the coolant was about half full.

Just to let everyone know, it is always wise to check your car atleast once a week min of once a month. It will help you in the long run. Always check fluids when you can.

From what the dealer told me is that i blew out the head gasket. havent found out why yet they said possibly streched the head bolts from the boost.

Interesting, so they are covering it under warranty?
I havent heard of anyone else blowing the head gasket, even with aftermarket tunes around 300hp.

How can you blow a head gasket and not get any smoke? Was the coolant mixing with the oil in the crankcase?
