So is this the reason prices on these things are being lowered everywhere?

IgottaWoody: Yep, your seeing it right. Left and right front, major coil binding, top coil rubbing past second coil, both sides. Left rear coil binds, with any weight in rear seat, and makes loud clunking noise, as does front both sides.
Deb, at Pedders USA, is working on my problem. "Moon"

Ya know it don't take much of a temp change, or a slight variation in coke or carbon to cause a bad batch of springs. They are hot-formed then quenched, all kinds of little things could go wrong. the fact that this seems isolated to a small group leads me this way. I'm sure they aren't happy about it either. I still want these.

I'm sure this had to be a batch of springs, that were'nt up to snuff, as far as spring rates. There are a lot of Pedders springs out there, and not just on our platforms[HHR-Cobalt], that people are not having a problem.
The people that are having problems with the springs, Pedders USA, is doing all it can to get their problems fixed. I would'nt be wary of their springs. Other manfactures have spring rate problems from time to time also. "Moon"

I agree with Moon..this was a bad batch of springs. I had problems with a set that I received last year. For a while no one had Pedders in stock and I was told they were on a boat somewhere. Well when they finally arrived and I got those installed I had clunking from the rear passenger spring from the get go. After alot of back and forth Pete sent me a set of XA coilovers.
