As for the other one in the pic is my daily driver, as the HHR is my wife's.

I just got the new winters and I'll put up costs and picks.
The TPMs were ordered through GM Dealership. Be aware that the TPMs "do not" come with the Nuts to attach to your rims. The Nuts(GM Dealership) are a separate part altogether . I also used my GM discount to purchase the TPMs(reg.$155.00+tax) and the Nuts(reg.$37.00+tax).

Tires(P215/60R/16)--4 x $99.95= $399.80
Rims (16 x 6.5) --4 x $84.95= $339.80
TPMs (4) --4 x $31.00= $124.00
TPM Nuts (4) --4 x $7.40= $29.60
Install & Balance = $60.00
Parts= $953.20
Can. Tax(13%)= $123.92

Total= $1,077.12 ($Can)

For anyone's info these are for the '08 SS with factory brakes. The rims fit are fine. Brembos probably not.

Cokeybill,

Where'd you get your tires and wheels from? $100 seems like a decent tire price.
(I'm in Canada as well).

Also, was there a fair bit of clearance? I'm possibly looking at 22560R16 tires and wheels, and just wondering if the extra width (minor) would be an issue.

I guess I have to go the TPMS route too.

TIA

What happens if you don't add the TPMS?

If you don't add the tire pressure monitor system, the light will be displayed on your dashboard which is no big deal really, unless the light on makes you nervous.

Question: How come so many are using such different size tires? For example, tirerack suggests using 215/50/17 or 205/60/16 and both you guys are using different sizes. Any fitment issues such as when the wheel is cranked all the way left/right or does your sizes just throw off the speedo a couple km's?

Also, could you get the steelies in 18"?

by dropping down to a 16" rim, your lowering your ride (plowing more snow)

but maybe the taller tire makes up for that?
