Think there would be any clearance problem fitting a 215/55/17 blizzak tire?

Your 17s should be fine. 16s are cheaper though.
Speedometer Assuming that this is OEM tire and speedometer readings are correct When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.8mph (97.9km/h): 1.3% faster.
Clearance: Package 1 Package 2
Suspension Assuming that this is OEM wheel/tire and there is no any problems with clearance on both sides 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM)
Fenders 100% clear (leaves even more room than OEM)
Wheelwells Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 5 mm. Acceptable for most cars.

yea, even Canadian Tire in Canada is on an order basis in my area. They have to order them in. How long is anybodies guess. They are really going fast this year. My mechanic of 33 yrs. ordered mine early.

Anyone tried a 215/55/17 or know if it'll fit alright? I found a used set being sold in my area that look really good.

This is the size I have ordered but they will not come for a few weeks. I will post up with pic's after fitting them. I am confident this size will fit, but I won't know for sure until I have them mounted and driving. If it is a great $$ deal that you found and you need the tires, I would go for it. If they didn't fit I would re-sell and look for 215/50/17. Also I have read that someone runs a 235/50/17....

I think I know the answer (yes), but 225/50/16's should clear? I would like more of a sidewall, and, ideally 215, but can get a pretty good deal on the above size tires. 5x110 steelies are harder to find then I thought.

Still the tpms or no tpms question too...leaning towards no, assuming its just the light and clearing the DIC warning (ie no constant beeping).

I fit 215/55R17 WS-50 Blizzaks onto my SS, super grippy, stiff sidewall and lightwieght on the MSW 11's. These WS-50s are on closeout from tirerack going fast at $75! They fit great.
