Poor Baby
true true the only reason i mentioned the Eagle RS-A is because i had them on an older supra that i owned and they were awesome. But i just looked and i might go for some other pilot series that will have better traction all around. I dont think ill take price into consideration when i get new ones i just want something good. It just sucks to shell out 200 for a tire when the old one only had 4000 miles on it. But i got plenty of time before ill be replacing all the tires.... at least the back ones cant say the same bout the fronts
Tires will get cheaper and if you know the guy mounting them you can avoid the speed rated tires that you really don't as you will probably never run at 120 plus for long periods of time.
Pilots are not what they used to be. You might be better off in a newer Eagle or I imports but the Toyo tires are as good or better than most. Even Bridgestones.
Pilots on the HHR are OE tires and most OE tires are cheap. MFG do not want to spend a lot of money on the tires so they take short cuts to save. Goodyear is dropping most OE tires as they make no money on them and the OE tires do things like wear out early and blow out.
mine blew out at 500 ish miles both passenger tires they just popped off the rim like over inflated blew out in back they were over inflated at dealer they didnt take responcibility i had to replace one wheel and two tires i said the hell with it and bought potenza's and a nice set of wheels. if anybody wants the orig firestones i will sell them cheap
Using a different tire can completely change the way the car handles. That would be my biggest concern if not replacing with OE tires. That being said, if folks here have had success with different tires that are cheaper, I'm all for using them when I need to replace the OEs.

F the Michelins dude. Go for the Falkens :) True, you will never be able to drive in even a dusting of snow again, but for the money you cant get better grip and handling performance. Check out the wear rating... 200. Money.
