if you road race i dont see how you could say that a standard belt would hold you as good as a quality pair of harnesess. be kinda like saying i dont need racing slicks because i beat someone on my road tires.

missed the edit button..

to the original poster check this link below, ignore the whole jdm thing, was just the first site i pulled up that have them. they hook up to your stock seatbelt harness and lock the lap belt in place giving you allot more support and keep you from moving around as much. a cheap solution that will give you a bit more security for daily driving.

Show me where I said it would hold me "as well" in any of my posts in this thread.

Regardless, back to the OP. Your HHR would look a little silly with racing harnesses in it but if that is what you want, go for it.

Get the belts but use the type that have the quick disconnect ends so they can be removed for street use,,that way no one can " laugh" at you ( silly )and you'd still retain the stock belts.I agree when your throwing the car around the corners the stock belts are not adequate. You wind up using your feet and steering wheel to keep you centered, not good for control. Been there done that. Stock shoulder belts are made to keep you off the steering wheel , not centered in the seat on hard cornering.
