Regular seat/Performance seat

Ok, I'm aware that the HHR SS came with 2 different drivers seats. Does anyone have first hand knowledge if the performance seat is much better or comfortable than the regular HHR SS seat. I test drove one with the regular seat and was happy but was just curious if I would be missing out anything on not getting the performance seat. Thanks

I love my performance seat, so does the wife. She wishes that the passenger seat was a performance seat also. Only down side about the performance seat is you can't add an arm rest using the factory gm parts.

I thought all 09 SS's came standard with performance driver and passenger seats? Or am I totally mistaken here?

The 08 only had the performance seat on the driver as an option. Then they made it a option on the passenger side in early 09.

Later they made it standard on both sides.

The performance seat is much better and has more leg support.

I changed my passenger side out with the performance foam and cover on the passenger side. At the time I had to use a drivers cover. I had to make a few minor mods and it look factory except for the tag on the wrong side.

I have yet had anyone notice it was not original.

The change would cost around $300 unless you have connections on cheaper prices.

The seat is worth it just to have them match as if you get an 08 with the option you will have two different front seats and it looks odd.

???????????

The arm rest comes on factory on both driver and passenger performance seats on the automatic SS. Since they come from the factory that way I see no reason why you can add them. That is if the dealer can order the correct one which seems to have been a problem in the past.

The dealer was ordering the correct one, it was the parts depot sending the wrong one in the right package

There was one member who's mother did not like the preformance seat, she was very short and the front of the seat sticks out further which bothered her legs.
Other than that, I think it would make a nice choice, but I am very content with the standard SS seats

Thanks for the input. I will be picking up my 2008 HHR SS this friday. Since I haven't tried the performance seat I guess I won't know what I'm missing. I am going to take the money I have left over and buy the stage 1 kit. Having the power drivers seat I am confident I can be comfortable with the stock seats. Anybody out there with the regular SS seats who have had long trips and found them to be good?

I've got an LT and an SS and both seats are faily good for long trips. If you get the manual, you may want to add an armrest, but other than that, seating is good. Just did a 1400 mile trip 2 weekends ago...

If you want to add the perfromance seat to the drivers side there is a tread here that shows how. It is not very hard at all. I know a couple of us have done it.

Maybe I'm confused (nothing new there), but I thought only the standard SS seats on the auto came with armrests. I'm pretty sure no Performance seats come with them.
