I have a 2009 SS made on September 29, 2008 and it has neither the performance drivers or passengers seat.

Some have added the the rest and made the needed changes to add the arm rest. There are threads here with what you need to do.

Here is what a friend posted to me on his addition of an arm rest.

"The SS seat back cushions are the same! The frames are not on the driver side! If it came with an arm rest the mounting bracket for the arm rest is welded on! If no arm rest the bracket was void unlike the passengerside which the mounting bracket bolts on! Our seats were from an 09' 5 speed SS so we had no arm rest when purchased! We used my original seats for the necessary hardware and bracketry in which we had to frankenstien the driverside seat in order for it to have an armrest provission!"

I have not done this but like I said look up the old threads where they added this and you can see what all is involved.

I already knew about the passengers seat cushion and drivers side seat. Another member had already pm'd me earlier and told me a seat cushion could be added to the passengers side and what needed to be done on the driver's side to get the arm rest to work.

I was trying to see if you had came up with a different solution besides welding the bracket on the drivers side, thus why I said did you use gm factory arm parts or did you find another solution via hit/miss parts.

Its all good. Some good information coming out.

if the seat has the " gm performance parts" tag on the seat bottom, then it's the performance seat.

You can't get the Automatic with only one arm rest.

K, maybe I missed something here???? My seats look exactly like the gray/black seats on page 2. I was never aware of a 'perfomance' seat option. When did these seats come into play. Both my seats are exactly the same. Well, ruling out that the drivers seat is electric.????? 08' five speed. Color was the only option I had. Black on Black-Black on gray- or Red on Black

The drivers perfromace seat was an option in 08 and very early 09's

It became standard in sept of 09 with the passenger seat as an option.

Both seats became standard later in 09 as performance seats.

The performance seat will always have the GMPD tag on it.

The driver seat should be electric as it was standard if I remember corectly but no seat warmer. the passenger is maual.

You have the colors right but GM was PC by calling them Eboney.

Since both seats are the same and it is an 08 you should have a standard SS seat.
