I will let you know what happens when I go wednesday...but the results may be wrong anyway because of my new tires. but i used my programmer to check intake temps before... with the lid on, there is no doubt that it stays cooler at a red light. like 5 to 10 degrees above air temp. but when the lid is off you can watch the temps climb sitting still. well over 100*. but the temps drop very quick once you start moving. I'd say by the time I'm doing 25mph or so I am getting the same temps with or without the lid. IMO, the lid being gone at the track may not really even hurt it considering the amount of wheel spin I get. but i will update this thread or post to the your "1/8th and 1/4 mile times thread" with the results. the lowest i have run with the lid on is 10.30 in the 1/8th...mostly because of cruise night rubber on the track and rock hard bald michilens.
