I'd go for the auto personally. My factory Michelins haven't given me any issues in the snow. Been through two winter seasons and never had any problems. I was impressed by the traction. We get alot of the white stuff up North.

Fwiw. I noticed that the five speed does have the drivers side performance seat but does not have the Brembo front brakes.
Also see the SS emblems are changed to red from white. You should look it over for any other mods also. Plus, check to see if it may have the GM Turbo upgrade or maybe aftermarket tune.(added upgrade or tune will mean it boosts in the 20+ range)

And. In the pictures, I almost looks like it's missing a lug nut on the right front.

Good Luck on the test ride.

5 speed it is guys! I'm no stranger to cars, and couldn't find a thing wrong other than a missing lug nut. Front brake calipers had been painted red, and red vinyl applied to the SS badges (which I dont mind actually). It has the GMTU installed, and a new clutch 5k ago. Before I even tried to negotiate they offered me 1k off the price, 2k more for my trade than the dealer with the auto, and are getting me an armrest for the drivers seat. I have other obligations tonight so I had to leave, but just waiting to hear from the bank on financing, and tomorrow after work I should be picking it up. Thanks for all the input everyone!

Enjoy. If you need wheel and tire spec's on the winter rims, give me a shout.

I am not sure how many are available in MI but there are many around Ohio and many with only 30,000 miles. I also have seen several colors. Columbus seems to have many there and Dayton too.
